Do you need to skip a Mortgage Payment?

Do you need to skip a Mortgage Payment?
First and foremost, I hope you and your families are safe and well. The last few weeks have been unprecedented for all of us, to say the least, but the good thing is that we will get through this together soon.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can request from your lending institution to defer the equivalent of up to six monthly payments. Please note that by deferring mortgage payments, you are not paying the mortgage principal, and interest will be capitalized (i.e. it will be added to the outstanding mortgage balance so your balance will increase). It’s important that you understand this impact.

Please keep in mind that most bank branches are closed and their call center are very busy taking customer’s telephone calls, you may apply or request to defer your mortgage payment online.

I have put together links for most major banks below, if your lending institution is not on the list below, just visit your lender’s website for the instruction of how to skip a mortgage payment.
